Human dignity shall be inviolable

Human dignity shall be inviolable. To respect and protect it shall be the duty of all state authority."

- Article 1, paragraph 1 of the Constitution of Germany.

Angela Merkel reminded us of the first sentence today before a joint session of Congress. Upon look up, it comes even before the right to life in that document.

For any of you that say - "that's not American"; so therefore it can be completely ignored., you are who this sentence is intended for - those who will not recognize a human being's dignity. This paragraph is also where their democratic nation stands, on the government, a necessary entity.

We would be wise to contemplate this attitude, and do some self-examination.

Merkel could of reveled us in the human dignity that the Chancellor of Germany bestowed upon the voters of Germany in 1933.
