If NJ was a "solid red state" as you claim, the race would've been over hours ago, and would NOT be "going down to the wire".

NJ is purple. Just like most states.

Google tells me that NJ's Senate is 23(D) to 17(R). Their Assembly is 43(D) to 32(R). It looks like they've got a ways to go, before they're red.
