For reasons unknown to us and insufficiently explained, two supposed highly trained and experienced professional airline pilots overflew their destination by a long damned way and in the process ignored many repeated attempts to contact them.

The plane was full of people. You know? People.

How about some mercy for the people behind the cockpit doors? The passengers and crew!

We make Captain Sully the hero of the year. And you want to retain these two after their behavior? Not likely.

It is the equivalent of two doctors going to sleep--or being deeply engrossed in the scheduling medical procedures--in the middle of an operation.

Or Homer Simpson zoned out on donuts at the safety controls of his nuclear power plant.

Put these two putzes on the luggage transfer section for the remainder of their careers. It will make an impression on others.

And it will make the flying public a little more confident.
