There's your answer. Whites are a minority in Hawaii and a majority in Alaska. Don't you know that whites are the only ones who are authentically American?

It's OK to put your white robeand hood away and go enjoy the exotic brown people in the sunshine and beaches , but when they back home, those "exotic" folks are relegated to the kitchen and garden . . . . .

"American-ness" is not a "silly question". Face facts: Nations are a recent theoretical invention , only a few hundred years old at best. But the kind of feeling of identity that is behind this is probably tied to our reptile brains, and very likely beyond the reach of political correctness. Nations potentially had the possibility of having some ethnic coherence, but soon gave in to the seductions of "empire", like when the French were claiming that Vietnamese could be "French". This is why there are so many "Failed States", and bloody conflicts. There were "Germans" 2000 years before there was any Germany, and even now, they are not all in one Country. "Self-Determination" is the simple , but not easy , answer. disigny
